Leather Cleaning

When cleaning your own leather goods, use a product specifically for leather cleaning. These products will remove and repel water marks and other stains. Leather should be protected with these products as soon as you get it home and regularly once in use. It is recommended that you test all leather cleaning products on a concealed area before using on the entire piece. If possible, consult the manufacturer’s instructions before attempting to clean your leather.

To clean liquid spilled on leather, blot the area gently with a clean cloth. During the winter months, salt stains can be removed by gently wiping with a damp cloth and letting air dry. Never rub leather cleaning products into your belongings. Use a gentle touch to help avoid pushing the stain further into the material.

To clean greasy stains such as oil or butter, wipe the stain off and it allow the remainder to absorb into the leather. The stain should disappear after a short time. Never apply water to a grease stain.
